I grew up with EPCOT, and I fondly remember 1980s EPCOT. For me, this was peak EPCOT – edutainment mixed with an optimistic future. NASA’s Shuttle program was in full swing, home computers were entering the public consciousness, and all sorts of new technology was there to be explored. I recently bought a 1986 guidebook on eBay for nostalgia’s sake, and scanned a few pages. Included are the map and the main attraction pages. The world showcase guide is still much the same as today, with the exception of Norway which was yet to be finished. Other little interesting details were the 305 area code phone numbers, the 15th anniversary of WDW, and the ads and info for Kodak film.
